Usage Note :
Do not confuse actual and real. You use actual to emphasize that what you are referring to is real or genuine, or to contrast different aspects of something. You use real to describe things that exist rather than being imagined or theoretical. Robert squealed in mock terror, then in real pain. Note that you only use actual in front of a noun. You do not say that something 'is actual'. Note also that actual is not used to refer to something which is happening now, at the present time. For this meaning, you need to use adjectives such as current or present.
请勿混淆actual和real。actual用于强调所指事物为真实的、实际的,或用于对比事物的不同方面。real表示事物的确存在,非想象的或理论上的:Robert squealed in mock terror, then in real pain(罗伯特起初假装害怕而尖叫,接着却真的疼得叫起来)。注意,actual只用于名词前,不能说某事物is actual。另请注意,actual不用于指正在发生的事情。表示某事正在发生时用current或present这样的形容词。
