Himself is a third-person singular reflexive pronoun used when the object of a verb or preposition refers to the same person as the subject. It can also be used to emphasize the subject or object, or in some religions to refer to God. Additionally, it has idiomatic uses such as "by himself" (alone) and "not be himself" (not behaving as usual).
