Round functions as an adverb and preposition, synonymous with 'around', and is frequently used in British English, carrying a slightly informal tone.
Its meanings encompass 'surrounding', 'moving to the opposite side', 'in proximity to a location', 'approximately', and 'throughout an area'.
As a noun, 'round' denotes a sequence of events, a competitive stage, a boxing segment, or a circular form.
In its adjective form, 'round' signifies circularity, sphericity, approximation, or being a multiple of ten or a hundred.
As a verb, 'round' implies moving in a curve, forming a circular shape, or rounding numbers.
Round is used as an adverb and preposition with meanings similar to 'around', commonly in British English and is slightly more informal.
It can mean 'surrounding', 'moving to the other side of', 'in or near a place', 'for an approximate time', or 'in different parts of a place'.
As a noun, 'round' refers to a series of events, a stage in a competition, a period of fighting in boxing, or a circular shape.
As an adjective, 'round' describes something circular, ball-shaped, or a number that is a multiple of ten or a hundred.
As a verb, 'round' means to move around something, to form into a circle, or to adjust a number to the nearest whole number.

Usage Note :
Round, about and around are used in various ways as prepositions and adverbs, often as part of phrasal verbs. In most cases, you can use either word without any difference of meaning. In American English, around is much more common than round. When you are talking about casual or random movement in no particular direction, you can use about as well as around and round. It's so romantic up there, flying around in a small plane... I spent a couple of hours driving round Richmond... Police constables walk about with guns on their hips. When you are talking about something being generally present or available, you can use around or about, but not round, as adverbs. There is a lot of talent around at the moment... There are not that many jobs about.
round,about和around用作介词和副词时有多种用法,常用于构成短语动词。在大多数情况下,这3个词没有意义上的区别。在美国英语中around比round常用得多。about,around和round均可用于表示没有特定方向的随意运动:It's so romantic up there, flying around in a small plane (乘着小飞机四处翱翔,多么浪漫啊),I spent a couple of hours driving round Richmond (我开车在里士满四处转了几个小时),Police constables walk about with guns on their hips. (警察们胯上别着枪巡逻)。around, about 用作副词可以表示事物通常就在眼前或近在手边,此时不用round,There is a lot of talent around at the moment (目前有很多现成的人才),There are not that many jobs about (现在并没有那么多的工作机会)。
