•2nd pretends to seek permission – this illogical structure reveals his disingenuous character. 
•2nd also climactic in its expression of the speaker’s satyromania (continued male intercourse) evident in his ‘Fantastick mind’ 
•This lust dies down in 3rd as he anticipates the metaphysical safety he will find on his return to ‘thy safe bosom’. 
•4th recognises that his adulterous sins mean that he will ‘lose my Everlasting rest’.
