ولد الدكتور أحمد زويل في مدينة دمنهور بجمهورية مصر العربية في السادس _والعشرين من فبراير/ شباط عام 1946, وبدأ المرحلة اولاى من تعليمه بمدينة دمنهور ثم _انتقل مع الأسرة الي مدينة دسوق مقر عمل والده حيث أكمل تعليمه حتي المرحلة _الثانوية ثم التحق بكلية العلو
Dr. Ahmed Zewail was born in Damanhur, Egypt, on February 26, 1946, and attended elementary school there. He later moved with his family to Desouk, where his father worked, to complete his secondary education.
