Text	In Arabic the following seven categories of nouns are definite: pronouns, e.g., أنا، أنت، هو proper names, e.g., أحمد، الهندُ، مكّة demonstrative pronouns, e.g., هذا، ذالك، أولَئكَ relative pronouns, e.g., الذي، الّذينَ، الّتي، ما، مَن a noun with article ال, e.g., الكِتابُ، الرّجُلُ a noun with a definite noun as its مضاف إليه, e.g., كتابُ حامدٍ، كتابهُ، كتابُ هذا a مُنادَى specified by النِّداء (calling), e.g., يا رَجُلُ، يا وَلَدُ
