Text	When لكنّ is used without شدّة then: It doesn't render the noun following it منصوب, e.g., جاء المدرّس، لَكِن الطلابُ ما جاءوا It may also be used in a verbal sentence, e.g., غابَ عليّ، ولكِنْ حضر أحمدُ
