Cross Section Large Times Greater Blood Flow Velocity Individual

Front
The mean blood flow velocity in individual parts of vascular bed is differnet. In aorta- it is 0,3 m.s, in capillaries-it is 0,001 m.s and in large veins- it is 0,1 m.s. According to the continuity equation, it means that overall cross-section of capillaries is approx. 100 times greater than cross-section of large veins and circa 30- times greater than cross-section of aorta.
