Ad Exodus Perpetrandam Fraudem Tam Bove Quam Asinō

Latin ad perpetrandam fraudem, tam in bove quam in asinō, et ove ac vestīmentō, et quidquid damnum īnferre potest: ad deōs utriusque causā perveniet, et sī illī jūdicāverint, duplum restituet proximō suō.

Exodus 21:8

English To do any fraud, either in ox, or in ass, or sheep, or raiment, or any thing that may bring damage: the cause of both parties shall come to the gods: and if they give judgment, he shall restore double to his neighbour.
