| 柯林斯解释 | In addition to the uses shown below, for is used after some verbs, nouns, and adjectives in order to introduce extra information, and in phrasal verbs such as ‘account for’ and ‘make up for’. Usage Note : Both for and to can be used to talk about somebody's purpose, but in different structures. For must be followed by a noun when expressing purpose. You can use for before an -ing form to describe the purpose of an object. …a small machine for weighing the post. With verbs, the infinitive is used without 'for'.
