Definition | this expression is used for someone who is impervious to criticism; i.e. criticism does not worry or upset them |
Examples | - You can shout at him until you're blue in the face - it's like water off a duck's back. - I've told him a thousand times he has to work harder, but it's like water off a duck's back. |
Note | A duck's feathers contain an oil which makes water flow right off them. |
