Proverb | Never cry wolf. |
---|---|
Definition | Do not say there is danger or a problem when there isn't. |
Note | This proverb comes from the story of the shepherd boy who, for amusement, twice ran into his village shouting that a wolf was attacking the sheep. On the third occasion, when a wolf really was eating the sheep, none of the villagers believed his story. |
