Tendons Bursa Membranous Sac Small Amount Viscous Fluid

Term bursa
Definition a membranous sac containing a small amount of viscous fluid. It is usually found in tissues where friction develops, such as where a tendon crosses a bony prominence. It may form synovial sheaths to surround tendons as they cross other tendons or bone.
