Address Vy Formal Pronouns Adjectives Forms Vous  In

Front vy forms of address

This is a formal address (like vous in French), intended to show politeness. It can be used in intermediate situations as well as very formal situations, even where you may be on first name terms with the person. For example, a teacher who is called by their first name would still be addressed as vy.

How do verbs, pronouns and adjectives behave when the vy form of address is used to address a respected person?
Back With vy, verbs (in the present tense) and pronouns take the plural form of you but adjectives still decline using the single form. For example - Kateřino, (vy) jste krásná. (Kateřina, you are beautiful.)
