Task | I _____________ (to be) very glad to see you tomorrow. |
---|---|
Answer | 4 |
a | is |
b | am going to be |
c | am |
d | will be |
comment | We can use the Future Simple (will and shall) to express invitations, immediate intentions and decisions:(invitation) Will you come for dinner on Saturday? We use ‘will’ when decisions or intentions are immediate and ‘be going to’ when we have already made a plan. In the test sentence we see either the speaker’s immediate decision or a polite invitation to come. We also use ‘will’ to talk about the future to mean ‘want’ to or ‘be willing to’: I hope you will come to my party. The test sentence can be an implied form of the idea ‘I hope we will see tomorrow’. Thus, we choose ANSWER 4. |
