Back While most verbs form their different tenses according to an established "formula", some verbs do not form their tenses in a regular way and are called irregular verbs, for example: 'eat' has a simple past 'ate', not '*eated'. The most common irregular verbs in English are: be, have, say, do, know, get, see, think, go, and take.
