English Etymology
restless
  O.E. restleas "deprived of sleep," from rest (1) + -leas "-less." A general Gmc. compound (cf. Fris. restleas, Ger. rastlos, Dan. rastlös, Du. rusteloos). Meaning "stirring constantly, desirous of action" is attested from c.1475.
