TRAVELLING BY PLANE
A large airport may have more than one terminal. You go to the check-in desk and check in. You might be able to choose an aisle seat or a window seat. You check in the baggage that will go into the hold, but you carry your hand luggage (US carry-on bags) with you onto the plane. You wait in the departure lounge and when your flight is called you go to the correct gate. You need to show your boarding card in order to get on the plane. The plane takes off from the runway. The flight attendants/cabin crew look after you during the flight. If you are taking an international flight, you will have to show your passport at immigration when you land. Then you collect your luggage from baggage reclaim and exit through customs.
