TRAVELLING BY TRAIN
You go to the station to catch a train. You can buy a single or a return. In American English these are called a one-way ticket and a round-trip ticket. A first-class ticket is the most expensive type of ticket. A timetable is the list that shows the times when trains arrive and depart. You wait on the platform to get on your train. If the weather is bad, it might be delayed or even cancelled. If you are late and the train is on time, you will miss it. If there is no direct service, you will have to change.
