 1 used with other verbs to form questions and negative sentences, also in short answers and question tags (= short questions at the end of a sentence)
 I don't like fish.

 He doesn't work here, does he?
Burada çalışmıyor, değil mi?
 2 used to avoid repeating the main verb
 He earns a lot more than I do.
Benden daha çok kazanıyor.
 She's feeling much better than she did last week.
Geçen haftadan daha iyi hissediyor.
 
3 used for emphasizing the main verb
 I can't find the receipt now but I'm sure I did pay the phone bill (ama telefon faturasını ödediğimden eminim).
