The
three main parts of a country's armed
forces are the army, the navy and the air
force. Officers in the forces give orders to their troops. When a war breaks out two or
more countries are at war. A war
between different groups in the same country is called a civil war. A country's
enemies
are the countries it is fighting against and its allies are countries which
support it. If armed forces from one country enter another country, they invade it. If they stay
there and take control of the country they occupy it. A country will try to defend itself against attack from another country.
At the end of a war one country is defeated and surrenders.
