WAR
The three main parts of a country's armed forces are the army, the navy and the air force. Officers in the forces give orders to their troops. When a war breaks out two or more countries are at war. A war between different groups in the same country is called a civil war. A country's enemies are the countries it is fighting against and its allies are countries which support it. If armed forces from one country enter another country, they invade it. If they stay there and take control of the country they occupy it. A country will try to defend itself against attack from another country. At the end of a war one country is defeated and surrenders.
