WEDDINGS
At
a wedding, two people get married. The woman is called the bride
and the man is the groom (or bridegroom). They are helped during
the wedding ceremony by the best man and the bridesmaids.
A wedding can take place in church (a church wedding) or in a registry
office. After the ceremony there is usually a wedding reception.
Many couples go on a honeymoon after getting married. Marriage
refers to the relationship between a husband and wife:
They have a happy marriage.
A couple celebrate their silver wedding
anniversary when they have been married for 25 years, their golden
wedding after 50 years and their diamond wedding after 60.
