The phrase "to catch up with (someone)" means to go somewhere quickly so that one reaches another person who started earlier: "I have to work late, so I won't be able to join you for dinner, but I'll try to catch up with you for a movie afterwards." The phrase "to catch up" means to become reacquainted with someone, talking about everything that has happened since the last time two people saw each other: "It's so good to see you again! Let's catch up over coffee." |
