The phrase "to pay cash on delivery" means to pay for something when it is delivered: "All our sales require that the customers pay cash on delivery, so we never have to worry about unpaid invoices." Finally, when talking about medicine, "delivery" means childbirth, especially the moment when the baby leaves the mother's body: "As an obstetrician, how many deliveries do you do in a typical week?" |
