For example, "My favorite class in high school was band class, so I tend to think that all high schools should have music programs." Or, "My sister tends to be much more comfortable with strangers than I am." More often, however, "to tend" means to take care or look after someone or something: "While she tended her dying grandmother at the hospital, her husband was tending their grocery store." Or, ¨He worked in the fields all day, tending the sheep and goats." |
