The verb "to post" can also mean to send something via the mail: "We posted the check last week, so you should have received it by now." The phrase "to keep (someone) posted" means to give someone the most up-to-date information: "Please keep me posted on your job hunt." Finally, the phrase "to post bail" means to pay some amount of money so that one can leave prison during the time before a trial: "Larry was arrested for assault and nobody could post bail, so he had to stay in jail." |
