The phrase "to speak up for (someone or something)" means to say something in support for or defense of someone or something: "If all the representatives are men, who will speak up for the needs of women?" Finally, the phrase "to speak (one's) mind" means to say what one thinks, even if other people will not like it: "Very few people are brave enough to speak their mind like Hannah does." |
