History
Palatino is a classic serif typeface designed by German typeface designer Hermann Zapf. Named after the 16th century Italian master of calligraphy Giambattista Palatino, it was released by the Linotype Foundry in 1948 for public use. Palatino was one of the most famous and widely used fonts of the time because of its new look and legibility and since has increased in popularity.
