Front | Where does Heaney use half rhyme in 'Storm on the Island' and what could it show? |
---|---|
Back | At the start: "We are prepared: we build our houses squat, Sink walls in rock and roof them with good slate" At the end: "We are bombarded by the empty air. Strange, it is a huge nothing that we fear." - This use of half rhyme could show that they can never fully prepare for a storm - It also creates a cyclical effect (at the start and end) perhaps showing that the storm is inescapable. |
