Ll Bit Mi Pronounce ʎ Palatal Lateral Approximant

Symbol ʎ
Name Palatal Lateral Approximant
Notes It doesn't exist in English. Its a bit like [l], but more y-like. A bit like English million or volume. It is the original sound of Spanish ll, as in millón, llave. Nowadays only a few dialects pronounce the ll this way, mostly in the Andean region. Some people in northern Spain still pronounce it this way but less and less.
