Name | Velar Nasal |
Notes | Velar nasal in English sing [sɪŋ] or song [sɔŋ] or [sɒŋ] (notice there is no [g] sound in sing or song). This nasal consonant is only found before velar consonants in Spanish (as in English): tengo, manco, engendro. Some dialects of Spanish (parts of the Caribbean and southern Spain) turn word final n into [ŋ] automatically: pan [paŋ], ven [veŋ]. |
