Back Sexual: 2 parents needed, gametes produced and combine in fertilisation, offspring are genetically varied so environmental changes only kill poorly adapted individuals so a population can adapt, allows a slow increase in population

Asexual: 1 parent, no gametes produced so no fertilisation occurs , offspring are genetically identical so environmental changes can wipe out the whole population, allows rapid increase in population so can colonise new areas quickly because parents don't need to find a mate
