Babesia is transmitted by the Ixodes tick, similar to Lyme disease. Diagnosis is by blood smear showing ring forms (similar to malaria) and PCR.
Babesia se transmite a través de la garrapata Ixodes, similar a la enfermedad de Lyme. El diagnóstico se realiza por frotis de sangre mostrando parásitos en forma de anillo (malaria hemática) y por PCR.
