Are  S Novobiocin R S.Epidermidis S.Saprophyticus Key Diagnostics

Both Staphylococcus epidermidis and S.saprophyticus are catalase positive, coagulase negative, and urease positive; however, S.epidermidis is novobiocin-susceptible, while S.saprophyticus is novobiocin-resistant.

Staphylococcus epidermidis ve S.saprophyticus, her ikisi de katalaz, koagülaz ve üreaz pozitiftir; ancak S.epidermidis novobiyosin duyarlıyken, S.saprophyticus novobiyosin direncine sahiptir.

S.epidermidis
S.saprophyticus

What are (3) key diagnostics features of above organisms?

Add a note on their respective antibiotic sensitivity to novobiocin
Back

Both are catalase (+)

Both are coagulase (-)

Both are urease (+)

S.epidermidis = novobiocin-susceptible
