S.aureus's gastrointestinal manifestation is rapid-onset food poisoning caused by a toxin (superantigen) that leads to vomiting and watery diarrhea; this toxin triggers cytokine release, stimulating the vomiting center in the brain.
S.aureus'un mide-bağırsak belirtileri, hızlı başlangıçlı gıda zehirlenmesi şeklinde olup, kusma ve sulu ishale neden olan toksinden (süperantijen) kaynaklanır; bu toksin, sitokin salınımına yol açarak kusma merkezini uyarır.

Back | Rapid onset food poisoning → vomiting + watery diarrhea → toxin (superantigen) cause cytokines release → macrophages release IL-1 → Th cells release IL-2 → these cytokines stimulate enteric nervous system and activate vomiting center in brain |
