This card describes Salmonella as a Gram-negative, motile, H2S-producing bacterium transmitted via poultry and undercooked meat. Virulence factors include endotoxin and the Vi capsule. It causes Typhoid Fever, characterized by fever, rose spots, constipation, and abdominal pain. Treatment involves ceftriaxone or fluoroquinolones, and vaccines are available.
