Meaning: If you check in, you give your details at a hotel's reception desk, or at an airline's check-in counter, when you arrive.

Example For example:

Note: "Check in" and "check into" can be used to mean the same things, but most people seem to use "check in" more for hotels and airline desks, and "check into" more for hospitals and medical centres.
