A champion is someone who has won the first prize in a competition, contest, or fight. Someone who fights or speaks publicly in support of a person, belief, cause, etc. to fight or speak publicly in support of (a person, belief, cause, etc.)

Everyone cheered for the champion as she finished the race.

Inca was a champion for the poor. Inca wanted to build houses for all the homeless people.

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.
