Harsh means very rough, too strong, very bitter. It’s really the opposite of gentle. Unpleasant, unkind, cruel, or more severe than is necessary.
When you use a harsh tone with yourself, fear will clog the entire creative process.
She was not gentle and kind. She was harsh. She was rude.
The harsh music hurt my ears.
The mayor wants harsher punishments for drug dealers.
