Eggs Put Basket Idea Keith Savings Start Fishing

Idiom Put All Your Eggs into One Basket
Example Keith used all his savings to start a fishing business, but I told him not to put all his eggs into one basket.
Meaning to risk everything you have at once on a single idea or plan; to commit all your resources at one time
Origin The idea for this idiom goes back to the 1600s when someone realized that if you put all your eggs into one basket and then dropped that basket, all your eggs would be smashed at once. Figuratively speaking, if you place all of your hopes and efforts on just one thing, you might lose everything.
