இந்த வசனத்தில், ஒருவன் யூதர்களுக்கு எதிராகவும், வேதத்திற்கும், ஆலயத்திற்கும் எதிராகவும் போதித்து, கிரேக்கர்களை ஆலயத்திற்குள் கொண்டுவந்து பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தினான் என்று மக்கள் கூச்சல் இடுகிறார்கள்.
