Notes | The past tense form is generally used to talk about events and states that took place prior to the time of speaking. The simple past tense is formed by adding -았/었- to the verb or adjective stem. The following general grammar rules apply: -았- attaches to stems ending in 아 or 오; -었- attaches to stems ending in a vowel other than 아 or 어; -였- attaches to -하다, resulting in -하였어- → -했어-. |
