Notes | In the way similar to -에 in its 'toward' meaning, -(으)로 can be used to mark the direction of a 'going/coming' kind of movement. However, there is a difference between these two particles. -에 sets focus on the destination without conveying the sense of direction. Whereas the use of -(으)로 implies focusing on the direction of a movement. That is why -에 cannot be used after words clearly denoting the direction, like -쪽 ('way, direction'), when talking about moving in a certain direction. |
