Notes In some first- and second-person sentences 좋다 / 싫다 can be used interchangeably with 좋아하다 / 싫어하다. However, while adjectives 좋다 / 싫다 may convey the meaning of 'to like / dislike', the opposite case where 좋아하다 / 싫어하다 would correspond to 'good / hateful' does not exist.

When 좋다 or 싫다 is used to express 'to like / dislike', the conveyed feeling is temporal and related to the current situation. The attitude expressed with 좋아하다 / 싫어하다 is suitable when talking about general likes and preferences.
