Notes | -고 싶다 attaches to verb stems and expresses the wish or hope like 'want to' in English. Declarative sentences with -고 싶다 usually have the first person noun (I, we). Questions are usually in the second person (you). The structure consists of the -고 ending and the auxiliary adjective 싶다. Here, 싶다 is used in the meaning of 'to want (to do)' or, more precisely as an adjective, 'to be desiring (to do)'. |
