Notes | The -아/어요 ending attached to a verb or adjective stem represents the present tense form. The following grammar rules apply: -아요 is used when the stem ends in ㅏ or ㅗ; -어요 is used when the stem ends in a vowel other than ㅏ or ㅗ; -여요 form used with -하다 becomes -해요 (shortened from 하여요); the -이다 copula changes to -예요 or -이에요, where -예요 comes after a vowel and -이에요 follows a consonant. |
