Front | 존이 코가 커요 |
---|---|
Back | It is John whose nose is big |
Notes | The subject marker -이/가 may replace the possessive particle -의 in sentences like 'someone의 something이/가 is ...'. Similarly to the previous example, the resulting phrase becomes a double-subject sentence with more focus placed on the first subject: 'It is someone이/가 whose something이/가 is...'. In casual speech, if the subject position is clear, and there is no need to mark the corresponding noun, -이/가 is often omitted. When used with the -가 particle, pronouns 나, 저, 너, 누구 change to 내가, 제가, 네가 (often pronounced as 니가 in colloquial speech), and 누가, respectively. -께서 is an honorific alternative of the -이/가 particle. -께서 is used when talking about an elder or higher status person. |
