Notes 밖에 is a particle-like principle that follows nouns and corresponds to 'only', 'except for' and 'nothing but'. The noun 밖 means 'the outside'. 밖에 denotes that the amount/quantity of the related entity is small in the way it does not exceed or 'go outside' the expected level.
Due to its meaning, 밖에 is always followed by a negative adjective or verb.
밖에 is written with a space after the word it follows. However, it can often be found written with no space as a particle.
