Biodiversity Climate Habitat Describe Ways Affected Change Melting

This card describes how climate change affects biodiversity in four or more ways: melting of polar ice caps, rising sea levels, higher temperatures with less rainfall, and changes in insect life cycles.

Front Describe 4 ways in which biodiversity may be affected by climate change.
Back Biodiversity & climate change:
  • Melting of polar ice caps - extinction of species living in those regions
  • Rising sea levels - flood low-lying land, destroying habitat and reducing amount of available habitat
  • Higher temps, less rainfal - xerophytes dominating
  • Insect life cycles and populations change - they are pollinators so if they range changes, plantsa left behind will go extinct
