Hepatocytes regulate blood glucose by converting glucose to glycogen under insulin's influence during hyperglycemia and breaking down glycogen into glucose under glucagon's influence during hypoglycemia.
Hepatocytes help control blood glucose by converting glucose to glycogen when blood sugar is high (stimulated by insulin) and glycogen back to glucose when blood sugar is low (stimulated by glucagon).
